THE AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS

The Australian Red Cross save lives and supports people before and after disasters strike. They work to alleviate suffering during wars and conflict and promote the laws of war and work to assist our most vulnerable community members – no matter their circumstances.
To meet increasing humanitarian needs in the years approaching 2020, they have set six strategic goals reflecting our vision and purpose;
An active humanitarian movement
Build an inclusive, diverse and active humanitarian movement based on voluntary service.
Resilience in disasters
Save lives, build resilient communities and support people in disasters.
Championing peace, reducing suffering
Prevent and alleviate human suffering in times of war and conflict and promote non-violence and peace.
Overcoming adversity
Improve the wellbeing of those experiencing extreme vulnerability.
A strong Red Cross
Maintain a strong, innovative, sustainable and accountable organisation capable of achieving our humanitarian goals.
Blood-saving lives
Provision of a safe, secure and cost-effective supply of blood and related products.
The Australian Red Cross is committed to reconciliation and building an Australia where humanity can thrive. One with a rich identity built on trust, respect and understanding. Where we learn about our shared history and take pride in the histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
