Where did you grow up?

Sydney’s north western suburbs

Where do you live now?

Sydney’s lower north shore

What was your dream job growing up?

I remember idolising my kindergarten teacher and wanted to be a teacher just like her!

Is that what you ended up doing?

No, I studied environmental & marine science and spent the early part of my career breeding seahorses! I now have my own professional services company and provide community relations and engagement advice to Government on major infrastructure projects from the environmental impact assessment stage and throughout construction.

What is one of your most defining moments in life?

Losing one of my high school friends at 19 years old. She suffered the majority of her life and was confined to a wheelchair at high school. I just remember thinking her life hadn’t even started. She didn’t get to have a boyfriend, have her first kiss or a job. Such simple pleasures in life. I have made sure I’ve lived my life to the fullest and have all the experiences she couldn’t. Oh and I suppose I should say meeting my husband! 😻

What are three of your favourite things to do?

Travel, Entertain friends & family Curl up with a book

Your favourite aspect of being in the Leina Broughton Conversations Group?

Seeing everyone in their LB frocks, how they style them, reading stories of how a simple frock can boost someone’s day and just the supporting and empowering nature of the women in the group.

Your “go to” LB piece?

Anything ‘wrap’ - I love wrap dresses, short and long but they must be in an amazing print!

What is your favourite quote?

Whatever is for you won't pass by you.

If you could only choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what would it be?

That’s a hard one! I like different songs for so many different reasons. What resonates with me at the moment is the song ‘This is me’ from The Greatest Showman soundtrack. I especially love the chorus... ‘Look out 'cause here I come And I'm marching on to the beat I drum I'm not scared to be seen I make no apologies, this is me’

It’s 2020 – what are you choosing to leave behind and what will you be taking forward into 2020, your new year

Taking this mantra in 2020 as I do every year... Life is too short to wake up with regrets. So love the people who treat you right. Forget about the ones who don't. Believe everything happens for a reason. If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said life would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.
